• We are hoping to work with Connecting Country to submit an application for funding through Round 3 of the 20 Million Trees Program. The project would include plants, guards, site prep and works crew.

We need one or two landholders who have enough land to plant at least 1,000 trees. Please let me know if you are interested by Monday. bethmellick@gmail.com

  • We had 22 people at our dam workshop. Many thanks to David Griffith, Landcare member, who came and spoke about dams in our landscapes and on our properties.

  • Join us at 69 Creaseys Road to remove the rest of the tree guards from our last planting. 10am start, and hopefully we’ll get them all removed in time to get home for lunch!

  • Please note that participants for the Dams to Wetlands Workshop this Sunday 23rd July, 9.30am, can meet at the end of Lyndham Road, Muckleford. We will be planting, and talking, and walking, so dress appropriately…

  • Join Muckleford Landcare when we visit two dams and discuss ways in which to improve their function for biodiversity, learning how to turn your property’s dam into a thriving wetland.

Sunday 23rd July, 9.30am to 12 noon. Meet at the Muckleford Community Centre on the Muckleford-Walmer Road. Queries to Beth on 0431 219 980 or bethmellick@gmail.com

  • Dave, Nev and Beth did some evaluation on the work of the Landmate crew, who took out some weeds along Bassett Creek as part of our NCCMA Bassett Creek Restoration Project – Stage 1. They did a pretty damn good job, covering about 1km.

  • Here are some photos of a planting that was done on the Chinaman Creek project just two years ago. Dave and Beth and Nev and Theo went out on Sunday to remove some tree guards and were all amazed at the forest before us.

We will have another session to remove the guards in about a month so stay tuned for the date to be sent out. It’s a great activity to bring your kids to, as they really help us along. We are about one third of the way through guard removal, so will hopefully see you at the next removal day.

  • Join us to remove guards from our last planting – this Sunday 25th June 2017, 10am. We will be at 69 Creaseys Road if you want to get out and about on a chilly morning with Landcare, or if you planted on that day in the Chinaman’s Creek project and want to see how the trees are doing. We are looking for somewhere to store the tree guards until our next planting, so let me know if you have space in a shed. Beth 0431219980
